In a continuation of its very successful Hot Dogs, Cool Bubbles event this past June, TWB –The Wine Bar is once again morphing into The Wiener Bar at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 31 with Haut Dogs, Size Matters – Big House Champagnes and Foot-Long Hot Dogs.

Provence/TWB Wine Director Joshua Carlson came up with the idea as a tribute to London’s famed Bubbledogs. “We received such great response to our June event, we decided to do it again,” says Carlson. “This time, instead of Grower Champagnes, I’ve enlisted David Hall of Charton Hobbs and Moët Hennesy who will be guest pouring champagnes from their portfolio.”

Carlson, along with Provence/TWB Executive Chef Jean-Francis Quaglia and Chef de Cuisine Sheldon Maloff, have created two very haut pairings available for only $30:

The Coney Island Foot Long Hot Dog
Dressed with Chili, Cheese, Onions – Tater Tot garnish
Veuve Clicquot Rosé

 and
The Ball Park Foot Long Wiener
Dressed with Mustard, Relish, Ketchup – Cracker Jack garnish
Moët Chandon RoséAs with the previous event this is first-come, first-served with the Haut Dog pairings available only while supplies last.

In addition to the two rosé champagnes featured in the above pairings, Hall will also be pouring an assortment of champagnes which may include some from  Krug, Ruinart, and Dom Perignon at the ‘dealer’s choice’ price of only $25/glass and TWB will be offering a 25% discount on all bubbles that night.

Join The Wiener Bar (aka TWB-The Wine Bar) for a very special sparkling Saturday starting at 5 p.m. on August 31 for Haut Dogs, Size Matters. Cheers to ‘no champagne, no gain!’

TWB Bursting with Bubbles for Champagne Day

If you enjoy Champagne, you may want to know that October 19 is Global Champagne Day.  TWB at Provence Marinaside is celebrating with Champagne of course.  Here are the details.

(Vancouver, BC) – As novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald once said “too much of anything is bad, but too much champagne is just right.” How lucky for us that October 19 is Global Champagne Day  – a day to raise a glass of the quintessential wine of celebration.  According to TWB-The Wine Bar’s Wine Director Joshua Carlson, “Bubbles turn any occasion, whether meeting friends after work or dropping by after the game, into a mini-celebration. They’re also very food friendly and go with everything from brunch to oysters to popcorn.”
Where better to celebrate Global Champagne Day than at TWB –The Wine Bar  and Provence Marinaside where they have 35 different bubbles on their wine list including 17 French champagnes. Prices for bottles range from $45 – $1,750.  If a bottle seems like too much of a good thing, you can always indulge your champagne passion with a glass or two. TWB has the largest selection of bubbles by the glass (35) including 17 French champagnes ranging from $28 for glass of Marie Demets Tradition Brut to $110 for the Louis Roederer Cristal if you are feeling very extravagant. Of course there are always non-champagne bubble options starting from $8 a glass./$45 bottle.
In honour of Global Champagne Day, TWB and Provence Marinaside will be offering 25 percent off all bubbles (both glasses and bottles) on Friday, October 19. If you can’t make it in, they’ll be offering the same discount for their regular Sparkling Saturday the following day.

“Everything is better with bubbles… life itself feels a little brighter when you’re sipping something sparkling. It’s going to be a lot of fun offering so many selections to our guests. Our wonderful patio, the view over-looking the Marina, and a glass of bubbles, is just about perfect when it comes to making your day exceptional,” concludes Carlson.

And don’t forget, Provence’s special three-course Taste of Yaletown menu starts this Thursday, giving you another tasty reason to drop by.

Whether you are in a celebratory mood, need a pick-me-up, or looking to unwind after work, TWB-The Wine Bar and next door Provence Marinaside have you covered this coming weekend.

(Vancouver, BC) – December 5th marks an important day for Provence Restaurants. It’s the first birthday of the ‘baby’ of the family:  TWB – The Wine Bar. “It’s been an incredible year for The Wine Bar,” says owner Chef Jean-Francis Quaglia. “People have really taken to our Bites and wines-by-the-glass concept.  TWB has become a popular meet-up location. I am very proud of what we’ve accomplished in just one year.”

To celebrate, TWB is holding an evening of special promotions and giveaways from 5 p.m. to midnight on Thursday, December 5th.  The public is invited to pop by and celebrate the birthday with Chef Quaglia and Sommelier  Rachelle Goudreau.  TWB will be having prize draws every 15 minutes and there will be plenty of complimentary Truffle Popcorn along with specials on Bites and some wines.

In the year since it opened, TWB has received several accolades including most recently a Bronze in the Wine List category in WE Vancouver’s ‘Best of Vancouver” Awards.

“We hope everyone will join us for the birthday party. We promise it will be a fun evening.”
