January 7, 2011 (Vancouver, BC) – On Thursday, January 20 2011, five exclusive bourbons will be featured at a dinner hosted by Brix Restaurant & Wine Bar.  Buffalo Trace Distillery’s Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley will guide guests through a unique tasting experience, that will be enhanced by exceptional cuisine created to perfectly pair with these fine bourbons.

The evening unfolds with a very special cocktail created with Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.  This product is the result of superior ingredients, a time-honoured traditional process, and of course a secret recipe.  The menu that follows will delight the palate from start to finish, allowing guests to savour the exquisite flavours and complexity of each bourbon expression.

First Course

Fraser Valley Pork rilette breaded with triple smoked bacon,

cured, smoked pork tenderloin carpaccio, candied meyer lemon zest

Blanton’s Special Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon – $99 a bottle

Second Course

Brome Lake duck confit caramelized onion soup

Buffalo Trace Bourbon – $44.99 a bottle

Third Course

Roasted lamb chop, rosemary okanagan ambrosia apple bread pudding

Eagle Rare Single Barrel 10 year old Bourbon – $59.99 a bottle

Fourth Course

California Cut smoked AAA New York Striploin, fondant baby Yukon gold potato, maple glazed baby carrots

Sazerac 18 year old Rye Whiskey – $160.00 a bottle
