How to Clean a Wine Glass

With a few days left before Christmas dinner, you might have checked your good wine glasses and saw that there is some cloudiness or reddish colour to the bottom of the glass.  What do you do?  Put your $60 Riedel glass in the dish washer, only to find that the thin stem has broken?  Try to reach at the bottom of the glass with a bottle brush?

One thing that I’ve found that works for me, is to put warm water in the bottom of my wine glass and add a bit (sorry no precise measurement) of baking soda.  Let it soak a bit, then slosh it around and wipe inside as much as you can before rising it thoroughly, then setting it upside down to dry.

Hopefully you will have sparkling wine glasses for your Christmas dinner.  Enjoy!
