Did you know that there is more than just Napa Valley in California producing wine? Some interesting wine regions are Paso Robles and Arroyo Seco. One of the wineries producing wines in these, and other regions in California is J.Lohr Vineyards & Wines. They will be having a tasting at Seasons in the Park on August 14. Jerry Lohr started investigating vine planted in California in the late 1960s and planted his first vines in Arroyo Seco in 1972-73.
Today, J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines includes more than 900 acres of cool-climate estate vineyards in Monterey County, with an emphasis on Chardonnay, Riesling, Valdiguié and Pinot Noir, 2,000 acres in Paso Robles dedicated to Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah, Petite Sirah and other red varietals, and 33 acres in Napa Valley, highlighting Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc.
Here are the wines you would be tasting and the announcement by Seasons in the Park:
- J.Lohr Estates ‘Riverstone’ Chardonnay 2012
- J.Lohr Estates ‘Los Osos’ Merlot 2009
